The Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology (PFST) established its flagship program, the Philippine Science Centrum as the first science museum-center in the Philippines on February 1, 1990 at the 5th level, Manila Film Center, Pasay City. To realize the Philippine Science Centrum, PFST Board of Trustees led by its founding President and Chairperson Engr. Ceferino L. Follosco tapped and convinced several government agencies and private companies to provide the needed funding, services and expertise.

By establishing the Science Centrum, the PFST has provided a concrete model of the interactive Learning System that it espouses. The PSC is a comprehensive educational program composed of various interactive science exhibit modules and write-ups, teacher activities, lessons and projects.

In introducing and promoting this teaching-learning approach, PFST has envisioned that more and more Filipino youth will be more interested in science and technology. By employing the exciting interactive learning technique, the notion and impression that science is boring and hard to understand will be de-mystified. Once this wrong perception about science and math is replaced with keen interest and appreciation, young Filipinos (and even adults and parents) will then be more inclined to engaged themselves in science and technology-related activities and projects.
