The Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology (PFST) established its flagship program, the Philippine Science Centrum as the first science center-museum in the Philippines on February 1, 1990 at the 5th level, Manila Film Center, Pasay City. The Board of Trustees led by its founding President and Chairperson Engr. Ceferino L. Follosco convinced several government agencies and private companies to provide the needed funding, services and expertise.
By establishing the Science Centrum, the PFST has provided a concrete model of the Interactive Learning System that it espouses. The PSC is a comprehensive educational program composed of various interactive science exhibits, teacher training programs, and students’ projects.
After surviving the earthquake of 1990, the Philippine Science Centrum continued its years of science advocacy at the University of the Philippines , Manila Campus then transferred to its present home in the at E-Com Bldg., Riverbanks Center, Marikina City.
After 22 years, we continue to develop more mind-challenging exhibits, conduct teacher training courses and bring the exhibits to the regions.
The sustainability of said projects and programs would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and partnerships with the academe, government agencies, private companies, local government units and revenues from the admission fee.
