In 1994, four years after its maiden year, the Philippine Science Centrum conducted its first 'out-of-Metro Manila' exhibition in Lapulapu City, Mactan Island, Cebu. Dubbed as the Adventures in Discovery-Traveling Science Centrum, this mobile exhibition was designed to reach out and bring the exciting educational offering of PSC in Metro Manila to the regions. The sponsorship of UNESCO made this mobile exhibition possible. After two years od successful 'region-hopping', another set was assembled known as the Sci-Fun Caravan to address increasing invitations from the different cities and provinces all over the country. These traveling exhibitions have also been invited to pocket exhibits in several malls in Metro Manila.

The regional and provincial offices of the Department of Education and the Department of Science and Technology are the usual local partners of PFST in bringing these exhibits to the provinces. Several civic groups, NGO's and the local government units have also hosted these region-hopping exhibitions. Worth mentioning is the continued sponsorship of Negros Navigation in giving free shipment of the exhibits to the destination in the Visayas and Mindanao areas. To date, there are already 78 cities, provincial capitals and municipalities visited with a record attendance of close to 1.8 million visitors.

Meantime, due to the overwhelming response to the two traveling sets and the need to reach more areas, the PFST is able to develop another set known as the “Science on the Move” (SOM). Different from the other sets, the SOM is designed in a lightweight, sturdy in colorful travel cases in modular dimensions
